Scheduled sailings of Sonning can be cancelled at short notice due to any circumstance that the Operators deem to be of potential detriment to the safety of the vessel or her passengers and crew.
Telephone confirmation is the most reliable method of planning your visit to avoid inconvenience or disappointment if sailing times have changed. If you are a group under 20 then there is no need to book simply turn up.

Fantastic! I highly recommend their boat cruise to everyone. The owners were very friendly, enthusiastic, professional and went the extra mile in making our group of home educating families (50 people) feel welcome and provided a brilliant boat cruise experience. They put a huge amount of effort into designing excellent information sheets and spotter sheets for the children. Both the children and adults especially loved searching for the items on the spotter sheet. We spotted lots of wildlife, including one of my favourite birds, the Kingfisher. We hope to return again next year.
Following a successful outing earlier in the summer, we booked our party night in September on the MV Sonning. What a fantastic night - Asa was brilliant co-ordinating the drinks requests, live entertainment and organising a fantastic buffet with great service from Gannets, Richard and his crew (especially the very busy bar staff) looked after us during our trip. It was a party to remember, and still being talked about at work - we're looking forward to another leaving do (or two!) in 2016, just so we can book the boat and have another night out in good surroundings, cruising the Trent and enjoying the great service from everyone at Newark Line River Cruises. Thank you for making our party such a huge success.
The "Sonning" is a stylish choice for any suitable event. Built in 1902 as a River Thames Passenger Steamer, she features upper deck areas seating 85 people, with a downstairs Edwardian saloon for a further 35. We recommend a total limit of 80 passengers for private functions. A fully licensed bar in the saloon serves a wide range of alcoholic and soft drinks, tea and coffee. Modern Ladies and Gents toilets are also situated below decks.
The Edwardian river cruiser M.V. Sonning is a family run business, providing public trips and parties on the river Trent over the last 33 years. We aim to enhance the river and share the beauties which the river and her banks behold. Our staff are fully qualified with 20 years experience in the Merchant Navy and take pride in their work.
